ok, so i downloaded LimeWire today, for free, and i found out that you can voluntarily choose to ignore the copyright-mark on files that prevents music piracy. now, the way LimeWire stays in the clear on this is that the program is, supposedly, intended for non-copyright file movement... but, c'mon. they make it an option in StartUp? of course i'm gonna choose the button that says "More Free Music".
anyways, i support my favourite musicians, blah blah, buy their CD's blah. which i do, if i want to blare the songs really, really loud, b/c CD's have an awesome sound quality at higher decibels that MP3's seem to suck the nut at.
watched FFVII:AC with my friends today on a laptop. sweet movie, especially for people who have played the game. unfortuneatly, i have not, so in an effort to do so, i think i will download Boot Camp for my Mac so i can buy my friends old game of it for the comp. he has VIII and X as well, so theres my new goal for the month:
get some Final Fantasy.
well, i hope everyone (anyone?) reading this is enjoying it...
right
well, cya later

death to Garfield
he hates this day, but to me it isnt so bad.
i went to school for the first time in a week today, because i was in Calgary last week. thankfully i was able to get my homework over email while i was there, so i am not as far behind as i could be. a week isnt really all that much to me, in terms of missing school and work.
anyway, i got up early to go to dryland training this morning, heading to the nearby field for sprint and agility training. its not so bad now; week before last we had to do minute long hill-sprints up a hill that could be classified as 'steep' with degrees to spare. this is all for ski racing, my sport of choice and passion. we finished at 8, and i had enough time to go home on my bike for a shower and breakfast. i dont have a class in the first block on monday, wednesday and friday, so i was in the clear for timing concerns.
when i got to school i spent my block reading Platinum Grit (see Links), which i probably shouldnt have done, and doing literary research for my own writing project. phys11 after that was... well, pretty boring, but thats better than nervewracking any day.
Writing 12 and History of Film 12 were after that, in the same block [(wah?!) (online courses... yeah)] and then normal history after that. we're learning about Ghandi, who is a prett sweet dude, actually. he certainly knew what he wanted. i wonder, as he was a resident of the British Empire for a time, was he knighted?
oh well. we had a grad meeting during lunch today, which was cool, because most of the class showed up to talk to each other industriously and ignore the people leading the meeting. i think we should just elect a board or something to plan prom and grad. goddam, i seriously dont care what color the balloons are. just let me bring a date and two guests, and we're cool.
i bought a brie-and-tomato sandwhich from the deli across the street for lunch. it was damn good, which is bad for me, in a way. i want to make my own at home, but brie is too goddam expensive to buy for sandwhiches every day. my life is way too hard as it is, and now there is no brie for me. *sigh*
i played World of Warcraft for almost a year, until about when i got out of school this summer. and you know what? i'm done with it. so i quit today, cancelling my account and everything. it felt kind of libertating, in a way. no longer having to go back to the endless LFG lines and tiresome grind to get that next level and spell... and i was only two away from the level cap... too bad! no more of my money for you, Blizzard! i hope your live-action Warcraft movie gets big bucks, because there is no more from me!
and now i will write about the apartheid in south africa. bye

my sunday
this is your first day with me, but for my own sanity i will write this out just like i plan to do every other day.
ok, here we go.
i had just gotten back from Calgary with my sister last night late, and my mom woke me up at 6:30 so i could be a caddy in the fundraiser golf tournament thats held here every year. i had volunteered a while ago, and my mom is one of the organizers.
this is a transcript of our conversation this morning:
Mom: honey, time to get up...
Me: nurr.... *completely covers self with blanket, attempts to regain sleep*
Mom: you have to caddy today, remember?
Me: nur...?
Mom: yes, and i woke you up with time to have a shower. breakfast will be served from 7 to 7:30 at the clubhouse for you, and then they'll prep you for caddying, and then you'l' meet your groups before going out. i'll be there, too, and your friend Adam vounteered this year, too, so i made sure to put you two in groups next to each other. And you know what? I won an award last night for my volunteer work with this, so don't be confused if anyone asks you about it. walk the dog after you come downstairs, and don't forget to--
Me: Mom, i cant get up until you leave.
Mom: oh, why's that, honey? remember to have your shower, and don't leave your towel on the floor this morning, and--
Me: nur...
she left shortly after, and i got up from my bed and went directly into the shower, blasting water over myself. some of you are asking, 'what about pajamas!?', but no, none of those.
'boxers?' you ask.
umm.... no. its my bed, and i like it nekkid. and my mom makes my life... difficult, for lack of a better word. in strange ways.
the golf thingy was good, btw. i've done it for the past several years, every time since the first, actually. its not too eventful, and i get ridiculous amounts of free food. free things are always better, and this food was goooooood.
Adam (the friend mentioned earlier) and i (me, Bender) hung around in the main town area for a bit after the tourny, since he was looking for a new ski jacket for this winter, and i was bored. i caught a bus home when we were done, w/o jacket due to the fact it wasnt a very serious jacket hunt.
an angel got on the bus.
she had been sitting on the concrete wall behind the bus pole, white-gold hair in a ponytail that bobbed gently as she bounced her runner heels off the cement. she looked up and smiled when the bus approached. we didnt stop though. waving, she ran after it, yelling for us to stop.
i yelled at the driver, who had until then been completely oblivious, riding even cushier seats in the land of stopless routes.
he stopped, and she got on.
a brilliant smile, dancers legs, oversized grey hoodie, blue eyes. i looked away as she waltzed down the swaying aisle, afraid to stare. she sat down on the opposite bench.
i turned toward her.
'lucky you,' i told her. she smiled, looked out the window. she was young, a year or two younger than me. i didn't look at her again till she go off the bus, when i smiled. she walked out of the rear doors, having not seen my farewell.
errr, i think thats about it. you'l hear about more people i know later, and i'l try to post every day or two. my laptop goes everywhere i do.

hello internet-land
hi everybody.
my name, for you, is Bender, and i hope you enjoy my blog. this is a virginal experience for me, so dont be afraid to leave if you are averse to the sight of blood.
ha...
anyway, i'll be posting as much as i feel like here on Small Machine, mostly about what happens during the days of my life, sometimes about what i think about this or that or that other thing, and a little bit of anything else.
bummer for you, but i am not incredibly computer savvy, so links may be intermittent, or non-existent, and if there is a problem with my blog... its not really my problem.
now to introduce myself. i'm 17 years old, living in a small resort town in Western Canada. this year is my last year of high school, after which i will be going of to some U-of-InsertNameHere, hopefully a good one. i'm also a guy, which i just now realized i hadn't told you.
if you want to know anything else about me, you can ask in the Comments area, and i will try and answer.
